Through my experience I have found knowledge is power. However, your progress is compromised if you don’t have the skills to use that power to your advantage. Self empowerment is key. Believing in yourself and standing in your power. Knowing who you are, knowing your value, knowing you have the power within yourself to create change is life changing. It gives you the courage and confidence to persevere. To overcome obstacles, break down barriers, and advocate successfully. Self empowerment is my jam and something I’M KNOWN to talk about often.

Navigating years of medical trauma does a number on you mentally and physically. It can be very isolating, often times leaving you feeling alone and completely misunderstood. Constantly hearing the thoughts and opinions of others and second guessing your own. I found myself lost, screaming yet silent, in a world in which I was invisible. Putting my worth in everyone else’s hands. I reached a breaking point in my life, in which, I recognized the importance of focusing on myself. Reflecting on my life and owning every piece of my story. Facing all that I’ve been through and all that I’ve learned along the way. Recognizing parts of me have changed and that’s okay. I’ve spent years rediscovering who I am, what I believe, what I want, what I will or rather won’t tolerate, and who I want to surround myself with. Learning to change what I can and know when to let go. There has been a lot of pain and darkness. Times I questioned life, my worth, and my purpose here on earth.
Looking within to find myself again has given me the clarity I needed to lead life on my own terms with courage and confidence. The process was key to creating boundaries where I never had any. I feel the most grounded, aligned, and confident in who I am and where I’m going.
Self empowerment is a skilled practice that has led me here and truly changed my life. I truly believe it’s a crucial for those with chronic disease, anyone who have experienced medical trauma, and medical gaslighting. It is a stepping stone to becoming a better advocate for themselves and overcoming all they have endured.
